We are the Mire!

As I have mentioned a few times in my blog the main antagonistic force is called the Mire. This idea came to me when I was last unemployed. During the period when I was jobless I would describe that time as dragging me down as I couldn’t seem to escape it for eight or so months. Dragging me to the ‘Mire’.

In terms of my personal project, The Mire are creatures that have invaded the waters of the world and have been slowly infecting the water space. Turning the sea into a black oily sludge and killing and dragging anyone to their death if they are unfortunate to fall into it.

Normally death is a welcome release for these people but some people are slowly mutated into people or Mire people.

Below I started some initial research into zombie, fish and mutated creature.

To start developing the the Mire people I have picked a few designs that I have liked. To help create a little variety of design I have created some colour tests by inverting them.

Also I have decided to develop the Mire by referencing these six aquatic animals:

Catfish, Shrimp, Crab, Squid, Whale, Sea Worm and of course skeletal creatures and zombies
