In Motion We Are Playgrounds visit!

Now for something that’s not related to my personal work :) Over the weekend I went to the very inspirational IN Motion on Friday and Saturday. I have only ever been to one of these sort of things when I was in university.

It felt good being immersed in the field I love! On the Friday I saw two of my animation heroes: Remus and Kiki and the Line. I am also interested in seeing their ways of working and their history in the business. I have been a fan of both ever since I watched Dateless (where R&K interviewed their friends and animating on top of that like creature comforts) and Super Turbo Atomic Ninja Rabbit (a cool fast paced anime trailer).

Also on the more marketing side, It was great to meet and learn interesting freelancer motion tips from Hayley of Motion Hatch.

On the Saturday I started by watching ‘Eat my shorts’, a small shorts competition that helps build a great community of short animation. I would like participate in the future as it lets animators meet up with like minded people. Creating short polished animations is something I would like to get back into after I finish Camaraderie.

I really enjoyed Sir Coldoinks caravan by Swatpaz. Video games are always close to my heart and I loved the medieval quest with all the gaming eccentricities added in to it.

Finally I saw Studio AKA and the legendary Disney animator Glen Keane who worked on Tarzan and Dear Basketball to close up my festival future. In the future I would love to network more or even show anything on the screen!
