Client: Dead Island 2
Problem:
AAA publisher Deep Silver know for great games such as: S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Saints Row needed an impactful and strong creative campaign for their upcoming game Dead Island 2.
Idea:
To create video assets for the pre-launch and launch of the game to help garner attention for the long awaited sequel. I created videos showcasing the main cast of characters (Slayers), a QVC styled showcase of the weapons and their mods, a card animation video series as well as a take on a dating app.
Outcome:
The ad campaign was a massive success and the client wanted to continue to work with us all the way until the extra downloadable content was released for the game.

Comic Strips:
To ‘Meet the Slayers’ we animated Roberto Ricci’s beautiful drawings of the characters engaging in anything they could do to survive the impending zombie apocalypse! I really enjoyed bringing these to life and learning more about the Hell-A world!
QVC styled video:
A bit of a tongue and cheek asset but one that was great to work on! We were tasked with creating a silly advert that showcased the weapons and mods you could equip on them. This was a great learning experience and had me working closely with our videography and Dambuster Studios themselves so that we could nail the lighting properly.
Skill tree card animations:
In Dead Island 2 you really need to understand the skill cards! These are integral to the game and help you kill the zombies in style! To showcase this I was responsible for a video series that with the combination of VFX showed off what each card could do.
Slashr app:
As dating apps are all the range, Dead Island 2 wanted us to create a fun version featuring a Slayer trying to match with his favourite weapon.
