Animatic 1/2

It’s been a while, so here is an update on my animation project!

I’ve been busy creating storyboard panels because I want to ensure everything is carefully planned out. One of my main goals is to avoid making the action feel too fast-paced, while still giving viewers enough time to understand what is happening. To achieve this, I’ve decided to include more pauses throughout the animation to improve the pacing and clarity.

Using the story beats from my previous blog post, I’ve now created storyboards up to the Turning the Tide section. This is where the action really begins, so I wanted to make sure these sequences were planned correctly before moving forward.

Below is the first draft of the animatic (animated storyboard), which I’ll continue updating over time. Once the timing and composition feel right, I’ll redraw the frames with animation layers in mind. This will allow me to add subtle movement effects, such as separating the foreground and background to create parallax. I also plan to include sound effects to help improve the timing and overall impact of the animation.

After that, I’ll begin working on the backgrounds. I really want them to look amazing before I fully integrate the characters into the scenes.
